The Gulf Coast League All-Stars are the All-Star baseball team of the Gulf Coast League, a Rookie-level minor league of the National League of Professional Baseball Clubs, consisting of players from the 30 teams affiliated with Major League Baseball.
Notable players include Cal Ripken, Jr., and Tony Perez.
History
The All-Stars were introduced on January 1, 2009 as a replacement for the Cal Ripken Baseball East-West All-Star Game that had been played each season from 1983 through 2008. The game was discontinued due to the 2008 Major League Baseball (MLB) season being the first year of the All-Star Game, with the League Championships being played in the Triple-A International League.
